Alka India Limited was incorporated on November 30, 1993 as 'Alka Sales Private Limited' with the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat. Subsequently, the name was changed to Alka Spinners Private Limited on April 21, 1994 and then to Alka Spinners Limited on September 21, 1994. Later, it changed the name to Alka India Limited in 2001-02. The company is promoted by RB Panchariya and S R Panchariya. It engages in manufacturing and sale of textile products, which includes cotton, yarn and fabrics. At present, Company is undergoing the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), marked through a turnaround strategy. As part of this renewed vision, the company is in the process of modifying its objectives to align with its new business focus-entering the agro commodities sector.
