Cupid Breweries and Distilleries Limited was formerly incorporated in the name of 'Cupid Trades and Finance Limited' on June 27, 1985. The Company's name was changed to 'Cupid Breweries and Distilleries Limited' effective from July 2, 2024. Earlier, the Company engaged in securities brokerage and commission services. As part of the revival strategy, the new management has revised the main object of the Company. The primary business activity of the Company has been shifted from trading and financial services to the brewing industry.
The Company is now primarily focusing on tapping the market of Alcobev products to mark its footprints, by the time its own manufacturing units operational. Also initiated trading of raw materials, intermediary products, consumables for Alcobev industry. Simu ...ltaneously, working on procuring licenses for establishing its owned factory units.
To support this focus, the Company has established a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary, Cupid Breweries and Distilleries LLC FE, in Bukhara City, Uzbekistan on May 21, 2024. Company has acquired 97.83% stake in Crochet Industries Private Limited (CIPL), making it a subsidiary of the Company in April, 2025. With the acquisition of CIPL and conversion of the unsecured loan into 10,10,591 equity shares, Mr. Erramilli Venkatachalam Prasad and Dr. Lily Bhagvandas Rodrigues have acquired more than 26% of equity shares and voting rights of the Company, through the open offer.
During FY 2024-25, the Company focused majorly on upcoming projects engaging those units as contract bottlers identified for development of a distillery and brewing facility in Ponda, Goa, expansion of brewing capacity at Mysore, Karnataka, setting up of a new integrated unit at Kalyani, West Bengal and expansion of craft beer and premium segment production at Pune, Maharashtra.
