Budget day trading session in focus

Markets may see an exceptional trading session on Sunday, February 1, 2026, when the Union Budget is expected to be presented. In the past, exchanges have conducted special Budget trading sessions even on weekends to allow markets to react immediately to policy announcements. Final confirmation is awaited.

Muhurat trading in 2026

The exchanges will conduct Muhurat trading on Diwali, which falls on Sunday, November 8, 2026. This special one-hour session is considered auspicious by traders and marks the beginning of the new Samvat year. Exact timings will be announced closer to the date.

MCX holidays: session-wise clarity is key

Commodity markets operate differently from equities. The Multi Commodity Exchange of India runs two trading sessions – morning and evening.
Traders must therefore check both session timings, as some holidays impact only one session.
