Fractal Analytics IPO listing saw a muted debut on Monday, with the stock opening below its issue price on both exchanges. Fractal Analytics shares listed at ₹876 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and ₹873 on the BSE, marking a discount of nearly 3% to the IPO price of ₹900 per share.

Selling pressure continued after listing. By 11:35 am, the stock was trading nearly 5% lower and touched an intraday low of ₹852 on the NSE.

At around ₹853 levels during the session, the company’s market capitalisation stood at approximately ₹14,665 crore.

Ahead of listing, the grey market premium (GMP) had indicated limited upside expectations.

Fractal Analytics IPO subscription details

The ₹2,833.90-crore public issue was subscribed 2.66 times at close.

Category-wise subscription stood as follows:

  • Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB): 4.18 times
  • Non-Institutional Investors (NII): 1.06 times
  • Retail Investors: 1.03 times

The allotment of the Fractal Analytics IPO was finalised on February 12.

The IPO price band was set at ₹857 to ₹900 per share.

Fractal Analytics IPO issue structure

The issue comprised a fresh issue of ₹1,023.50 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of ₹1,810.40 crore.

Selling shareholders in the OFS included Venkateswara Remala, Satya Kumari Remala Rao, GLM Family Trust, Quinag Bidco and TPG Fett Holdings Pte Ltd.

Proceeds from the fresh issue are earmarked for investment in subsidiary Fractal USA for debt repayment, purchase of equipment, expansion of office infrastructure, investment in research and development, sales and marketing initiatives under Fractal Alpha, potential acquisitions, and general corporate purposes.

How much did IPO investors lose on listing?

The IPO lot size consisted of 16 shares. At the issue price of ₹900, one lot required an investment of ₹14,400. At the listing price of ₹876, the value of one lot dropped to ₹14,016, implying a notional loss of ₹384 per lot on debut.

The weak listing was largely in line with muted grey market signals ahead of listing.
