Nazara Technologies Limited was originally incorporated as a private Company with the name 'Nazara.Com Private Limited' on December 8, 1999. Subsequently, Company's name was changed to Nazara Technologies Private Limited on July 4, 2003. Thereafter, it converted into a Public Limited Company and the name of the Company was changed to Nazara Technologies Limited on December 13, 2017. The Company is one of the leading mobile games company headquartered in Mumbai, which is engaged in acquisition of, value addition to and distribution, of mobile games across emerging markets such as India, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia and Latin America. The operations comprise of Subscription Business, Freemium Business and esports business. The Subscription Business is focused on mass mobile int ...ernet users in the emerging markets, comprising largely of first time mobile gamers. In light of the low propensity of gamers to pay for online content, the Company has tailored its product offerings to deliver maximum value for gamers at affordable price points. The 'sachet pricing' strategy in Subscription Business allows gamers to access entire catalogue of over 1,000 android games, upon signing up for a daily, weekly or monthly subscription. Billing for Subscription Business is channelled through telecom operators (carrier billing), which has eased the payment process for gamers and collection of revenue by the company. As part of in-house Freemium Business, the company understands local gamer behaviour in designing games and innovatively incorporating local, licensed, intellectual property to drive the growth of network of games is one of its key strengths. Localised gamer insights are reflected in the popularity of some of its mobile games on the Google Play Store, such as, World Cricket Championship 2', Chhota Bheem Race', and Motu Patlu Game'. These games have consistently been part of the top three games on the top free charts on the Google Play Store ahead of certain globally established names such as Candy Crush, Subway Surfer and Temple Run. In 2022, Sportskeeda, a Nazara subsidiary, acquired Pro Football Network, the No. 3 NFL Publisher in the US. In 2023, the Company acquired Middle Eastern game publisher Publishme and skill gaming platform OpenPlay. It acquired WildWorks to strengthen the Gamified Early Learning Division. The Company further acquired Comic Con India, Publish.Me, Ninja, Freaks4U (investment), Branded and also acquired the IP related to Playground in FY 2024. It has acquired WildWorks for its gaming division in the USA market by diversifying the product portfolio during the year 2024. In FY25, Company acquired Fusebox establishing a stronghold in narrative-based mobile gaming. It entered offline gaming with Funky Monkeys and Smaaash, creating a 360° gaming ecosystem. It took full ownership of Kiddopia enabling fungible cash flows and faster strategic execution. It strengthen the mobile portfolio by acquiring gaming of IP C.A.T.S. and King of Thieves from ZeptoLab.
