Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government will focus on scaling up manufacturing across seven strategic and frontier sectors, creating champion MSMEs and delivering a powerful push to infrastructure to accelerate economic growth.
Addressing Parliament, the finance minister said the government has undertaken comprehensive reforms aimed at creating employment, boosting productivity and sustaining growth. She described the reform journey as a “reform express,” noting that it is well on its way.
According to Sitharaman, more than 350 reforms have already been rolled out as part of this reform drive. She said the government’s first kartavya is to strengthen manufacturing capabilities across key sectors, alongside measures to support MSMEs and infrastructure development.
The focus on manufacturing, MSMEs and infrastructure, she said, reflects the government’s priority to accelerate growth through sustained reforms.
