Sotefin Bharat shares opened at ₹205 on the BSE SME on Thursday, a premium of 9.6% over the issue price of ₹187. The stock advanced further to touch the 5% upper price band of ₹215.25, then extended gains to lock at its upper circuit, 15% above the issue price, around 10:30 am. The move came even as the broader Sensex traded 109 points, or 0.14%, lower at 76,646.
Debut Exceeds Grey Market Expectations
The listing outperformed grey market indications ahead of the debut. The last reported grey market premium stood at ₹2.50, which had suggested a listing price of ₹189.50, a premium of 1.34% over the issue price. The actual listing and subsequent move to the upper circuit came in well above this indication.

IPO Subscription and Issue Details
The Sotefin Bharat IPO was a book built issue of ₹89.76 crore, comprising entirely a fresh issue of 48,00,000 shares. Bidding opened on Thursday, 16 July, and closed on Monday, 20 July, with the price band fixed at ₹178 to ₹187 per share. The issue received an overall subscription of over 3 times, with the retail portion booked nearly 4 times and the non-institutional investor segment subscribed 6 times. Allotment was finalised on Tuesday, 21 July. The lot size was fixed at 600 shares, with a minimum retail investment of ₹2,24,400 across two lots. Choice Capital Advisors Pvt Ltd was the book running lead manager, Bigshare Services Pvt Ltd the registrar, and Choice Equity Broking Pvt Ltd the market maker.
