Symbiotec Pharmalab IPO Opens August 24: Check Price Band and Key Details

Symbiotec Pharmalab, a Madhya Pradesh-based contract development and manufacturing organisation, will launch its maiden public issue of ₹1,757 crore on 24 August 2026. The price band has been fixed at ₹938-988 per share, valuing the company at ₹6,244.43 crore at the upper end. 

What are the IPO dates and issue structure? 

The anchor investor portion will open on 21 August. The subscription window runs from 24 to 27 August, with the basis of allotment expected on 28 August. Refunds are set to begin on 31 August, and shares are likely to list on BSE and NSE on 1 September. 

Within the offer for sale, promoter Satwani Holdings LLP will sell shares worth ₹144 crore, while investors Rosewood Investments and India Business Excellence Fund-III will offload shares worth ₹988 crore and ₹475 crore, respectively. 

What is the lot size and allocation structure? 

The minimum bid lot is 15 equity shares, in multiples thereafter. At the upper end of the price band, this works out to a minimum retail investment of ₹14,820. 

Of the net issue, not more than 50% is reserved for qualified institutional buyers, not less than 35% for retail investors, and not less than 15% for non-institutional investors. Eligible employees will get a ₹90 per share discount on the employee reservation portion. 

How will Symbiotec Pharmalab use the IPO proceeds? 

Of the fresh issue proceeds, ₹112.5 crore will go towards partial repayment of debt, out of total outstanding borrowings of ₹349.7 crore as of March 2026. The remaining amount will be used for general corporate purposes. Proceeds from the offer for sale will accrue to the selling shareholders. 

What does Symbiotec Pharmalab do? 

Symbiotec Pharmalab operates as a CDMO for specialty pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies globally, offering products and services across organic chemistry, biotechnology and complex injectables. It also manufactures its own products. 

The company traces its origins to laboratory-scale manufacturing of steroidal hormone APIs in 1995 and has since grown into an industrial-scale, backward-integrated manufacturing platform. Its facilities have received approvals from the US FDA, EU-GMP authorities and South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. 

Symbiotec operates two API manufacturing facilities with a combined maximum capacity of 584.67 metric tonnes for chemical synthesis and 300 kilolitres for fermentation. It has also commissioned two additional facilities at Ujjain and Mhow in Madhya Pradesh, and is expanding biologics capacity with a proposed dedicated 14 kilolitre fermentation line at Ujjain. 

 

For the financial year ended March 2026, Symbiotec reported a profit of ₹109.9 crore, up 13.6% from ₹96.8 crore in the previous fiscal. Revenue rose 15.6% to ₹869.1 crore from ₹751.6 crore. 

JM Financial, Avendus Capital, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors and Nomura Financial Advisory and Securities (India) are the merchant bankers to the issue. MUFG Intime India is the registrar.
