What Chart Signals Did the Desk Use?

The desk looked for stocks that had found support after a fall or were holding an uptrend. A support level is a price where buying has stopped a fall before. The desk also tracked moving averages, which smooth out daily price swings.

The picks fall into three groups:

  • Recovery from a recent low: Apollo Hospitals, GE Vernova T&D India and Jindal Steel.
  • Uptrend with higher lows, where each dip stops above the last one: Marine Electricals, Shilpa Medicare, Syrma SGS Technology and TD Power Systems.
  • Holding above key moving averages: DLF, HBL Engineering and Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd (TARIL).

What Does the RSI Show for These Stocks?

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) measures the speed of a stock’s recent price moves and shows whether it looks oversold or overbought. For Apollo Hospitals, GE Vernova T&D India, Jindal Steel, Shilpa Medicare and TD Power Systems, the desk noted the RSI near the oversold zone with signs of a turn upward.

For Marine Electricals and TARIL, the RSI had cooled from the overbought zone. The desk described the RSI for DLF, HBL Engineering and Syrma SGS Technology as well placed.

Outlook

The desk said the charts of all 10 stocks pointed to a possible further rise. Chart patterns reflect past price behaviour and do not guarantee future moves.
