Shares of Molbio Diagnostics made a strong debut on the stock exchanges today, listing at Rs 980 on both the NSE and BSE, a premium of 21.44 percent over the IPO price of Rs 807 per share. At the listing price, the company had a market capitalisation of around Rs 11,293.52 crore.
The stock extended its gains through the trading session, moving between an intraday low of Rs 926.35 and a high of Rs 1,044.40. Shares were last trading at Rs 1,033.60, up 28.05 percent over the issue price, taking its valuation to around Rs 11,595 crore.
What Was The Molbio Diagnostics IPO GMP Before Listing?
Molbio Diagnostics shares were commanding a grey market premium of Rs 116 over the issue price, or 14.37 percent, on the morning of August 17, ahead of listing. The stock’s actual debut of 21.44 percent came in stronger than this pre-listing indication.

Molbio Diagnostics IPO Subscription And Issue Details
The Rs 939.70-crore IPO was subscribed 70.27 times by the end of bidding on August 12. The issue received bids for 57,32,14,392 equity shares against 81,58,529 shares on offer.
Qualified institutional buyers led the demand, with their portion subscribed 186.39 times. The non-institutional investor category was subscribed 49.80 times, while the retail portion was subscribed 12.96 times.
The IPO opened for subscription on August 10 and closed on August 12. Molbio Diagnostics had fixed the price band at Rs 768 to Rs 807 per equity share. The issue comprised a fresh issue of Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 739.70 crore.
The company allotted 34.88 lakh shares to anchor investors, with the anchor portion forming part of the QIB allocation. The issue also included a reservation of 20,520 shares for eligible employees.
How Will Molbio Diagnostics Use The IPO Proceeds?
Molbio Diagnostics plans to use Rs 105.54 crore from the fresh issue towards capital expenditure for setting up infrastructure for a research and development facility, a Centre of Excellence and connected office space.
Another Rs 72.28 crore has been earmarked for purchasing plant, machinery and other equipment for its manufacturing facilities in Goa and Visakhapatnam. The remaining proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes.
Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors, IIFL Capital Services and Jefferies India were the book-running lead managers to the issue.
